Hot August Nights, a non-profit organization, is the premiere classic car event in the world, annually drawing hundreds of thousands of spectators and participants to northern Nevada to revel in nostalgia, enjoy top entertainers from the 50s, 60s and 70s and participate in a variety of events including Show-n-Shines, controlled cruises and more.
The Hot August Nights Foundation, a registered 501(c) (3), creates an instrument for individuals and businesses who share The Foundation’s Mission to work together, providing in-need or at-risk children with a more meaningful and productive life through the availability of continuing and higher education. The Hot August Nights Foundation members volunteer their time to provide vital resources, including scholarships and volunteer needs, while supporting a variety of educational and assistance programs.
Every August, the streets of Tahoe South, Reno and Sparks vibrate with the sound of muffled rumbles of rebuilt engines, rays of sunlight glinting off the polished chrome and heavy scents of Dapper Dan hair pomade fill the air. Droves of spectators line the sidewalks for a glimpse into the past, a time when a driver’s license and a hot car were all anyone needed or wanted on a Saturday night.
It’s the largest classic car and nostalgic event in the country and encompasses the entire region! Restored hot rods and sexy muscle cars give enthusiasts a first-hand experience of popular decades done by. The festival will be packed with more than 5,000 classic vehicles to admire! Show-n-Shines, drag races, controlled cruises, concerts, a swap meet, sock hop, prom and classic car auction are just a few of the “cool” activities.
An incredible array of entertainers from some of the greatest decades in music will perform. Entertainment will be announced in the summer.
The Show-n-Shines are a beloved tradition of Hot August Nights and there plenty to chose from whether you're a classic car owner interested in competing, or a spectator that wants to admire beautiful vehicles. The show and shine schedule will be announced in the summer.
