The 2017 875 HP Shelby GT350X Experimental Mustang was created to be half of a grand-prize package in the 2017 Mustang Dream Giveaway® that is an annual charity-sponsored sweepstakes. This year, we wanted to build a one-of-a-kind  supercharged V-8 Mustang that could go heads up in battle against the Dodge Hellcat, the Cheverolet Corvette Z06, and the Cheverolet Camaro ZL1 and also had the "looks that thrill."

The Shelby GT350X Experimental has a 2.9L Whipple twin-screw supercharger, which delivers dense oxygen into Ford’s amazing, new flat-plane crank V-8. (This is the same advanced-engineered supercharger that powers Ford’s Cobra Jet drag racer.) The Whipple system includes the billet oval 132mm electronic throttle body, high flow 72lb./hr. fuel injectors and a new, high-flow intercooler pump. It makes up to 875 (+350 hp) engine horsepower and 660 lb-ft of torque on 93-octane fuel with only 9-psi of boost!

Next, the GT350X experimental muscle car was equipped with a full complement of Steeda Autosports’ suspension modifications, which completely transforms the Mustang with improved handling and vehicle control as well as the competitive advantage on both the street and track.
