The Bronco Dream Giveaway, a nationwide drawing sponsored by New Beginning Children’s Homes, ended on May 26, 2020. Elizabeth Sorrell from Virginia is the grand-prize winner of a custom 1972 Ford Bronco plus $8,000 towards the prize taxes! The sweepstakes benefited eight amazing charities.
On May 12, 2020, Mrs. Sorrell made a donation to enter the Bronco Dream Giveaway. Little did she know that she was now holding the winning ticket. “All the charities my donation benefited are fantastic,” she said. “I have always been charitable and I always love charities that help children. I will not lie; the Bronco caught my attention first, but I didn’t think I would win so I justified that at least my donation would go to good causes.”
On Thursday, June 11, 2020, Mrs. Sorrell received a telephone call giving her the fantastic news. “The best part of this is the WHOLE thing,” she said. “From the moment Chris and Boomer called and the absolute surprise of winning to the excitement of that big bad boy driving off the truck in Virginia. I really just thought I was giving to charity, that I never would really win my dream car! It still hasn't sunk in! I still go out to see if it is really there!”
Mrs. Sorrell owns a Virginia Beach-based veterinary hospital. In her free time, she enjoys yoga, traveling, outside activities, and adventure! “The Bronco is so incredible because I have felt a little cooped up the past few months,” she said. “Driving that truck around in the fresh air is AMAZING medicine!”
New Beginning Children’s Homes (NBCH) is a 501(c)3 provider of family-style long-term residential care with a mission to provide foster children a safe and faith-centered family atmosphere where they can heal, grow, and be loved while working through difficult life issues. In addition to the funding they received, NBCH provided grants to several worthwhile charities, including Honor Flight of West Central Florida, National Guard Educational Foundation, Bright Pink, Smile Network International, Mothers Against Drunk Driving, 4KIDS, and Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries.
