Vehicle Story

Rust Bucket Restos

Thank you for stopping by & welcome to my page.  My name is Dave Swearinger, and I am a car builder, fabricator, and welder.  I host a YouTube channel called Rust Bucket Restos where I save, restore, build, and enjoy classic cars.  I've taken a special interest in building classic Mopars over the past few years and I absolutely love what I do.  Check out my channel if you would like to see full DIY restoration videos & watch these cars come back to life.

My 1968 Plymouth Satellite is named "The Ratty Satty."  This car was sitting for close to 20 years in the California desert & we brought her back home to the great state of Utah to build it into what it is today.  We acquired the car in July 2023 & took it racing for the first time in September 2023 at the Duct Tape Drags in Tuscon, AZ.  The car was old, tired, and in need of some SERIOUS improvements.  My friends at Auto Metal Direct, QA1 Motorsports, and Wilwood Disc Brakes stepped in to help me get the sheet metal completed and also install the complete Mopar front & rear suspension along with some beautiful 6 piston disc brakes.  Once the suspension & handling was sorted I moved on to building the fire breathing 440 that is topped off with a pair of BEAUTIFUL Edelbrock VRS 4150 carburetors.

The car is an absolute animal on the autocross & drag strip.  I will continue to upgrade & improve the car as time goes on.  I'd love some help from sponsors or other builders to turn this car into what it truly deserves to be.

Thanks for checking it out & don't forget to check out my YouTube channel @ Rust Bucket Restos.  Thanks!
