Vehicle Story

In January of 2020, I pulled "Skeletor" out of a carport in Waianae Hawaii, where it had sat for the last 30 years. From what I could see it had the potential to be a great project. I brought it home where it sat during COVID and an unplanned 11-month deployment. While I was gone I had an engine built for it and ordered parts every time I saw a sale. When I returned home I began work right away. I gutted the wiring and wired the whole car off an Amazon fuse block. The goal was to just get the car off the island.

I shipped the car in July of 2023 from Hawaii to Virginia where a shop called Bad Company was going to do some additional work. Well, that was derailed when my car was abused and left abandoned by Matson in their overflow parking lot. Thankfully the amazing people at Bad Company offered to fly to Los Angeles to pick up, troubleshoot, and repair the car in an attempt to drive it across the country, a once-in-a-lifetime journey in a clapped-out Mopar. The team at BCI rented shop space, slept in odd places, and attended a Pantera concert while getting Skeletor ready. The car made the 3,000 mile journey with relative ease, despite some overheating in the desert. The car is now in safe hands at the BCI compound in Toano Virginia awaiting further mods which include a motor plate, subframe connectors and custom headers.

Engine is a low deck big block mopar 400 stroked out to a 512 thanks to a 440 source kit. Heads are also 440 source. Has a Lunati Voodoo cam, and a Torker intake.

Trans is a Passon built A833 4 speed

Rear is an 8.75 with a 489 case, 3.23 gears and a sure grip.

Aside from the structural work Skeletor will be getting a fuel injection system, a new wiring harness, and a supercharger. The goal is to race the car at the Merril Ice Drags in Merril Wisconsin.
