Vehicle Story

Project Swinger came to us as a sad example of a muscle car, with a canary yellow paint job and shag carpeting, the license tag “SWINGER” meant something other than what we had thought. Still, the name grew on us and our first project car was given a name and a place to develop into a very cool, potent street machine with autocross potential.

Pulling it apart to begin the build, we quickly realized that panel replacements were mandatory, and the holes in the floorboards needed lots of attention. The complete body makeover and paint job started to make Swinger look like a real muscle car, and it was only the beginning. Adding a performance suspension system front and rear from Ridetech, and transplanting a supercharged LSA, like what you’d see in a CTS-V, helped put the power and handling to the pavement. The Tremec 5-speed rounded out the drivetrain, followed up by a Currie 9-inch rear end

But drivetrains and suspensions are only the beginning, because we went through the complete interior with new seats, carpets, and upholstery, as well as a cool digital dash from Dakota Digital dash and some new glass, felt and regulators meant that Swinger was given a completely new lease on life.
