SCORE International is an off-road sanctioning body in the sport of desert racing and is famous for its flagship event, the SCORE Baja 1000.
General Information

WHEN: February through November annually

WHERE: Desert courses in Baja California, Mexico.

COURSE: The courses are laid out over government-approved land and private property in the U.S. and Mexico. Distances range from 125 miles to over 1,000 miles.

Races average 250 entries competing in 36 Pro and 7 Sportsman classes for cars, trucks, motorcycles and ATVs.

SCORE: SCORE International was founded by the late Mickey Thompson in 1973 and was handed over to Sal Fish in 1974. In December 2012 Sal Fish handed over the reins to former Baja 1000 Champion Roger Norman. SCORE International has remained the world’s foremost desert racing organization since it was founded by the late Mickey Thompson in 1973. The series is best known for its flagship event—the legendary SCORE Baja 1000®, the granddaddy of all desert races. In the year 2017 SCORE will celebrate 50 years of the Baja 1000® and in 2018 will celebrate 50 years of the Baja 500®.
